Don & Jackie’s Winter Wedding in Cleveland

Well, who could have known that Don and Jackie’s wedding day would be the snowiest one of the year? Slowly, but surely, we made our way from southeast Akron to a few beautiful destinations in Cleveland.  Grace Church in Middleburg Heights was beautifully decorated for Christmas and Don and Jackie shared a meaningful ceremony which set the tone for the celebration later that evening.

Following a long & slushy drive, we took a few quick shots at the festive Arcade in downtown Cleveland.  It’s always a gorgeous place to photograph but all the decorations made it especially pretty for this couple’s Christmas time wedding. Despite the wind, snow, and cold, this couple was up for anything and their fun-loving friends kept them going with lots of laughs and goofing around.

After making it through downtown, the party made it’s way to the Cleveland Sheraton.  Once there, the couple and their friends warmed up in the indoor pool area– and had a lot of fun doing so! Thankfully, no one actually ended up in the pool….though I bet that hot tub was looking pretty nice! 🙂 Guests who braved the weather were greeted with delicious hor dourves and drinks which warmed them right up for the party to follow!  It was a perfect way to spend a snowy northeast Ohio winter day and we are pretty sure everyone agrees that Don and Jackie were worth coming out for!  We wish you both all the best as you start your life together-may your love always keep your hearts warm as it did on your memorable wedding day.

Extended Family Sessions

I have had the pleasure of photographing several families lately…large families.  I wanted to share them with you and give you some tips as well if you are considering a family session of your own.

Coordinating a large family session can be a lot of work, but it doesn’t have to be.  Clothing choices can be made fairly simple by giving everyone a color scheme and encouraging them to coordinate without necessarily matching.  The other challenge is often the number of children involved.  It can be hard to get all of them smiling and looking at the same time.  I always work fast to try to keep boredom to a minimum.  Here are some of the recent “posed” family portraits I’ve captured.

Then, we break into smaller groups and capture siblings, all the boys, or other smaller family groups.  These can all hang together in a wall gallery and look amazing.

And, then I always try to capture some fun photos as well.  Here are a couple from the last few sessions.

I love to work with each family to design galleries or arrangements that can be hung in the home and cherished forever.

Lorenzo & Stephanie’s Marine Blue Wedding

Blog readers may remember Lorenzo & Stephanie from their appearance just  a short time ago and not much has changed since then.  Except, of course, they are married now!

I arrived at the hotel to photograph the details as the girls got ready.  Stephanie had the expected wedding day jitters, but as she got ready looked just beautiful and the tension eased.  But still, something just wasn’t right…until they saw each other.  Until they were together.  Stephanie’s smile was back and she was complete again.  And so was Lorenzo.  They flew to Hawaii to start life together and I couldn’t be more happy for the two of them.  It was such a pleasure to be there to capture the day.

My New Love…

I am in love with one of our new custom products for 2010.  These are gorgeous.  The Image Portfolio Box is one of the most elegant photo display options I’ve ever seen.

I think my favorite aspect is the versatility.  Swap these matted photos in various frames or easels for a display that never gets old.  {Plus the box looks awesome on your coffee table.}

They’re perfect for engagement sessions, family & child sessions, maternity, boudoir and even a great wedding album alternative.
